الملخص:
تتلخص فكرة البحث حول تساؤلٍ هام في فلسفة اللغة: هل يمكن لأسماء الإشارة أن تشير بدقة إلى الأشياء التي في ذهن المتحدث؟ أم أنها رغم كونها وسائل للإيضاح تظل غامضةً إذا ما تعلق الأمر بدقة الإشارة إلى المشار إليه؟ وما مدى علاقة الإشارة بالدلالة والمعنى، والدور الذي تلعبه نظرية الإشارة ونظرية الأوصاف بشقيها (المحددة وغير المحددة) في التأثير على المعنى ومفهوم الدلالة لدى كلٍ من المتكلم والمستمع، عند فيلسوف اللغة الأميريكي "هوارد فيتشتين"، وقد عرضت في هذا البحث إلى النزعة التصورية بين "جوتلوب فريجه" و"فيتشتين"، ثم نظرية الإشارة الجديدة وتفسير فيتشتين لموقف فريجه في ضوء هذه النظرية، وتفريقه بين المعنى والإشارة، ومدى اتفاقه واختلافه مع "برتراند رسل"، وتمييزه بين الاستعمالات الإشارية للوصف والاستعمالات الإسنادية، والمؤشرات الدلالية والمغزى الدلالي للاستعمالات الإشارية، وموقفه من صيغ ضمائر المتكلم التي قدمها فريجه، والفرق بين المعنى اللغوي والمغزى المعرفي، والنظرية النفسية عند فيتشتين، والنظرية الجديدة ودلالة أسماءالعلم، وأسماء العلم ووجهة النظر السياقية، والاستعمالات الوصفية وعلاقتها بعلم الدلالة، وموقفه من النظريات السببية والقصدية للإشارة، وأسماء الإشارة والمغزى اللغوي، ومشكلة إشارة الوصف المحدد والوصف غير المحدد بشكلٍ فريد.
أوضحت خلال البحث آراء فيتشتين، مقارنةً بفريجه ورسل، وتأثره بكيث دونيلان، وموقفه من بعض فلاسفة اللغة أمثال ("سول كريبك"، "كولن ماكجين"، "مايكل ديفيت"، "ناثان سالمون"، " ستيفن نيل") الذين تناولوا نظريات "الأوصاف، الدلالة، المعنى، والإشارة" بالتحليل.

Abstract:
The research idea summarized in an important question in the philosophy of language: Can demonstratives accurately refer to things in the mind of the speaker? Or do they, despite being means of clarification, remain ambiguous when it comes to the accuracy of referring to the referent? And what is the extent of the reference with the signification and meaning, and the role of the reference theory and the theory of descriptions in its two parts(definite-indefinite)in influencing the meaning and the notion of semantic significance for both the utterence and the audience,according to the American philosopher of language "Howard Wettstein".In this research, I presented the conceptual approach between"Gottlob Frege" and "Wettstein", then the new reference theory and Wettstein's interpretation of Frege's position in the light of this theory, his differentiation between meaning and reference,the extent of his agreement and disagreement with "Bertrand Russell", and his distinction between the referential uses of descriptions, attributive uses, the indexicals and the semantic significance of the referential uses, his position on the pronouns formulas presented by Frege, the difference between the linguistic meaning and the epistemological significance, the psychological theory of Wettstein, the new reference theory and the semantics of proper names, the proper names and the contextual point of view, the descriptive uses and their relationship to semantics, and his position on The causal and intentional theories of the reference, nouns and linguistic signification, and the reference problem of uniquely definite and indefinite descriptors.
During the research, I explained Wettstein 's views, compared to Frege,Russell, and his influence on Keith Donnellan, and his attitude towards some language philosophers such as("Saul Kripke","Colin McGinn", "Michael Devitt", "Nathan Salmon","Stephen Neal") who dealt with theories of " Descriptions, significance, meaning, and reference" by analysis.
